Last week, 27th April to be exact, was the 15th anniversary of the founding of Audlem & District Probus Club.

On 27th April 1995, it was agreed at a meeting at the Lord Combermere to initiate the group with the following officers:

  • President: Humphrey Parker
  • Vice President & Social Secretary: Ian Hart
  • Secretary: George Thomas
  • Treasurer: Ron Bradford
  • Speakers' Secretary: John Baker.
It was agreed that the first meeting would be at the Lord Combermere on 11th May 1995 and that meetings would be on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month with membership limited to fifty.

The membership has since been raised to sixty and the twice monthly meetings and numerous social events and trips have continued successfully over the past fifteen years. The meetings have been held at Brookfield Golf Club over recent years.

Charles Marshall and Bob Woods did not eventually join the Club.
