This week sees the end of a major stage of the construction work with completion of the external and internal walls and first floor ready to start on the Roof Structure.

The work has involved a tremendous amount of heavy materials, steel RSJ's, concrete beams and blocks for first floor plus of course thousands of bricks. All this has meant large plant on site to move all this into position.

Hopefully week commencing 11 April will start to see the arrival and erection of the timbers and the metal work for the roof and again this will need lifting equipment. The roof tiles follow next and target is for this to be completed Mid May and the scaffolding removed creating some much needed space in the Compound.

Site Manager Gary feels he's been working on a giant jigsaw, getting one lot of materials delivered and moving them around to create space for the next load, all to be planned in advance to fit in with suppliers.

Currently, (due to bad weather -frost, rain and wind making it impossible to work,) the build is behind schedule but once the roof is on they are confident of making up some if not all of the lost time. They have already been working longer hours when weather permits, because like the APHAx Committee they want the project finished as soon as possible.

With the Easter weekend approaching they will be releasing some space back for parking over the holiday period

Finally, thanks to everyone for their patience and support during the construction stage of what will be a much needed community facility
