We greatly regret to let you know that Ann Bowles died peacefully at home on the 7th May, aged 86.

Ann, together with her husband Brian, moved to Audlem in 1994 and they were so happy in their retirement here.

Ann soon embraced village life and took part in local activities, such as the choir, history group, WI and local charity shop.

She was soon elected as President of the local WI and subsequently became regional President for Cheshire. Ann was also elected as Chair of the local charity shop, a position she held from 1999 -- 2020. The shop developed from a small enterprise to an important part of village life, due to the dedication of Ann and all the other shop volunteers (or, as she said, it kept 28 old ladies off the street!).

Following her retirement from the shop she continued to raise funds by selling plants from her garden.

At home Ann spent all her spare time in her (as it was hers) garden. She loved having visitors and chatting over current affairs with a cuppa.

Ann will be greatly missed by us all.

The family would like to thank the local community and local services for all their help and support, particularly in recent times. A celebration of her life will be held in Audlem Public Hall in the coming weeks -- details of this will be published at a later date.
