An Intriguing Sight in Audlem!

An intriguing sight yesterday in the village.

I wonder if you spotted them as they walked along the street.

Capturing them as they partook of refreshments in the Lord Combermere , I
was intrigued as to why?

They are a body of Ex RAF – members of the mess at RAF Scampton . This base
was that of the famous Dam Busters of WW11 and is now the home of the
glorious Red Arrows .
The men as seen in the photo meet up each year for a reunion and sail the
canals aboard the vessel " Black Buck".
They are named The JOLLY BOYS 2 and they moored near Adderley before walking
here to the village .
At each anchorage they dress in different garb. Today dress shirts and black
tie. Tomorrow in Lederhosen.

A wonderful idiosyncratic happening and delighted they brightened up the
village today,

Bon Voyage to them as they continue their sailing and their reunion.
