With apologies to our weekend readers who have already seen it, Audlem Online is repeating this morning a story from Saturday. Monday normally sees our largest readership and we are keen for as many as possible to know that senior ambulance chiefs are coming to this Wednesday's Community Action Meeting in Audlem.

You will know that Audlem Online has published several worrying stories about emergency call-out responses by ambulances in the past few months. So worrying that the ambulance service was invited by PC Ken Maple to attend the next Community Action Meeting in Audlem on 7th February to discuss the concerns with local residents.

Ken now has the names of the ambulance service representatives who will be at next Wednesday evening's meeting, which starts at 7.00pm at St James' school. A team of three will be involved. They are:

Ian Moses, Sector Manager for the Central and East Cheshire Area

Mike Moore, Operational Service Manager (OSM) for Central Cheshire Area

Asiya Jelani, Communications and PPI Lead for the Cheshire and Merseyside

Area of NWAS

As Ken says: "This will be a great opportunity to learn about how your ambulance service operates and also to put questions to the team, so please come along and join in."

It is good to see the North West Ambulance Service is taking the issue so seriously. It's rare that one can say of a meeting that the issue being discussed is a matter of life and death, but for anyone needing an ambulance in a hurry, that is no exaggeration. We hope there will be a big turnout for what promises to be an important discussion and public forum.

If you have friends or relatives who may not be aware of this meeting, but would be interested in attending, please do let them know. After all, we all have a vested interest in ensuring we have the best possible emergency services.
