Several suggestions have been received about yesterday's query about where have all the garden birds gone. The concensus so far is that with the very kind summer and the wealth of berries in the fields, the birds are well fed in nature and will come back to gardens when food becomes more difficult as the year wears on. This view is supported by the very heavy crop of berries on the hollies as evident at present.

A Buerton resident says that his feeders have in fact been attracting a few birds back, particularily the fat balls. Any more observations on this subject would be welcome.
