(The website link that was here no longer works) Audlem Online continues its series on local retail businesses in the run up to Christmas with Audlem Mill.
Audlem Mill is located on the canal wharf, between the Bridge Inn and the
Shroppie Fly. It's one of Audlem's best known historic buildings. The two
retail floors have a wide range of goods of interest to all the family.
Audlem items
Most of these feature a painting of Audlem Mill by Audlem artist Sheila
Webster. Wooden jigsaws in three sizes (very challenging!), mugs, boxes of
fudge and shortbread, keyrings, fridge magnets, teapot stands, table mats,
coasters, etc.
Giftware
"Old Tupton Ware" ceramics (in the style of Moorcroft); ceramic animal salt
and pepper sets, toast racks etc; "Northern Lights" scented candles in jars; jigsaws of canal and rail scenes; dinner candles in a wide variety of
colours ("fork handles" for £1.50!); telephone and pillar box money boxes;
jewellery by Helen, made in Audlem; and much, much more.
Paintings
Always a good selection of original art. Featured works at present include
those by local artists Sheila Webster (also some framed and unframed prints
of hers), June Breese, George Baker and the late Maureen Hinchliffe, as well
as works by well-known canal artists Sarah Chanin and Harley Crossley.
Also, don't forget our annual art exhibition from 22 March to 19 April.
