It has been Ambassador Week in school this week which began with Mr Perry and our Anti Bullying Ambassadors leading an assembly on Monday highlighting the importance of the week as well as what bullying is and how we can prevent it.

Each class has been discussing tolerance and respect for everyone and exploring the themes of bullying, friendship and keeping others and ourselves safe and happy through a variety of activities and lessons.

Our Anti Bullying Ambassadors have led sessions with each class, which they have planned and prepared themselves based on different scenarios which could happen within school.

PCSO Nick Jarvis visited school for one of his lunchtime drop in sessions on Wednesday for children to meet with him and he also worked with each class exploring the theme of bullying.

Although our themed week ended on Friday, our School Parliament will be working with our Anti Bullying Ambassadors over the coming weeks to plan a special Balloon Launch at the end of half term which will bring together work from this week and our forthcoming Safer Internet Day in February – please watch out for further details.

Ruby class shared their class assembly with parents and carers on Thursday. They shared ' A Day in Ruby class' with us all and it was wonderful to see the range and quality of work they have produced in so many areas of the curriculum and to hear how proud and enthusiastic they all are about their topics and work – a delight to see!

This week's Praise Book children are:
Mrs Hayward's Class – Milo Hetherington Doyle Miss Danha's Class – Tom Satchithananda
Mrs Richardson's and Mr Morrey's Class – Iona Bugeja Mrs Stoker's Class – Libby Grace Felton
Mr Perry's Class – Jasper Smallwood
Mrs Bird's Class – Riley Capewell
Congratulations to you all!

Well done to our football team who represented our school in the Crewe Soccer Centre Football Tournament on Tuesday. They played three games against Berkeley, Wistaston Church Lane and Wybunbury and as always they did us proud by coming second in their group. The team won one game and lost the other two narrowly and Mr Perry would like to thank them all for playing so well and for the sportsmanship shown in the games.

Well done to you all and thanks, as always, to the parents and carers who transported and supported the players.

A reminder that our Active Audlem session for staff, children and parents is on Wednesday from 8.30am. The children will begin to collect laps for their 'Road2Rio' from next week with the aim of achieving 'gold' in time for the summer Olympics! I hope to see you there.

Safety Online

Following on from our recent NEP Internet Safety session for parents and carers and our Ambassador Week in school this week; I would like to remind you of the helpful and infomrative reosurces which can be found in the 'Share Aware' section of the NSPCC webiste.

This campaign is aimed at helping parents to keep their child safe on social networks. The campaign is particularly relevant for parents of children aged 8-12 and aims to give information and advice in a straightforward and no nonsense manner. I am providing the hyperlink below for your information: http://www.nspcc.org.uk/preventing-abuse/keeping-children-safe/share-aware/

Can You Help our Global Ambassador Appeal?

Many thanks for the donations already received for our appeal on behalf of New Hope Orphanage in Kenya, Africa. A reminder that to help with this appeal, we are asking for families to check if they have any old football or sport tops and or loom bands and to send any donations of these items into school before the end of January to be sent out to Kenya. Thank you.

Finally

Our school website is being updated all the time; we are currently adding new photographs of life in school and will be adding more over the coming weeks. Please check the site regularly for updates and contact me if you have any further ideas or thoughts about items that you would like to see included on it.
