Attention all Audlem Theatre Company members and supporters old and new. We have exciting news about our Summer 2023 production.

June 16th and 17th

Following on from our sell-out pantomime Hansel and Gretel, where every show was performed to a capacity audience! (thank you) Audlem Theatre Company are delighted to announce that we will be performing our very own stage version of:

allo allo

'Allo Allo' is a hugely successful TV sitcom which ran for 7 series. Written by the highly acclaimed duo Jeremy Lloyd and David Croft, (Dads Army, Are You Being Served & Hi-de-Hi,) the show was a massively popular hit which had audiences of over 17 million at its peak & is still available on TV channels in the UK and North America.

The stage play also written by Lloyd and Croft was performed professionally throughout the UK and featured many of the original TV cast. It has also been performed by numerous amateur theatre companies who all appear to have enjoyed the experience.

In this spoof of World War II, René Artois runs a small Café in German-occupied France. He is an unwilling agent of the Germans, mostly under the command of Col. Kurt von Strohm, and of the French Resistance, who are controlled by the bilingual Michelle Dubois ("Listen very carefully; I shall say this only once"). René is married to tone deaf Edith, who is the worst singer in the world. Rene for some reason attracts the attention of his two young 'waitresses' Yvette and Mim|I who both want him to marry them.

The stage play continues with some of the main storylines from the TV shows, including the contested ownership of the priceless oil painting known as "The Fallen Madonna with the Big Boobies"' by Van Clomp--a painting that everybody concerned would love to get their hands on to sell after the war.

Rene is still hiding the two downed idiot British airmen who, remain impossible to get rid of, despite the best efforts of Michelle and the linguistically challenged resistance agent come policeman 'Crabtree'

The main opposition is the insane SS officer Otto Flick and his seriously seductive sidekick Helga.

René tries to carry out the German and the French Resistance's crazy plans, even though he's a coward and wonders if he's going to get out of the war alive.

Add in and an extremely effeminate German tank commander and an aging French Lothario called l'éclair whose disguises leave a lot to be desired and the stage is set........
