Alan's In Charge!

Walking Rugby

Since its formation back in April, our Walking Rugby group has been going from strength to strength!

We've had experienced players reignite their passion for the game along with multiple first timers learning the ropes -- every session is challenging and fun whilst catering for all involved.

One addition in particular has been a stand out and epitomises everything our walking sports are aimed at -- social interaction and making new friends!

That person is Alan.

Alan spent a brief time spectating a session one Monday morning and within minutes he was in full interaction with all our participants -- his passion for the game and his favourite team London Irish was evidently clear. Alan's playing highlight was representing his school in the final of the Bristol Under 15 Cup, playing open side wing forward with over 200 in attendance! Unfortunately he is unable to take part in our sessions for physical reasons.

However, Walking Rugby isn't about just the PLAYING part! Alan now joins us on a Monday morning to referee our games as well as offer words of coaching wisdom to all our participants! He's very well respected by all, a firm but fair referee and has become a shining light for the group and what it's trying to achieve.
