Ralph Warburton writes with ADAS (Audlem District Amenities Society) news: "Now that Bonfire night is past, we are aiming to light up the village again with the placing of the Christmas tree and lights display. Rick Youle, our local tradesman, is fitting more electrical connections in the village so that we will have even more trees in place.

"The small trees will be dressed with lights by ADAS committee members over the weekend of 21st/22nd November. The big tree will be cut down on the 26th by John Davies and myself – with Richard Furber transporting it from the plantation to the storage at Jonathan Gleave's.

"Then we will put it in place by the 29th. Phil Baker will light the big tree – along with the trees in the Lord Combermere bed and then we will again have a splendid show – perhaps the best again in South Cheshire. This will then be the focal point for the most popular Annual Carol Singing around the tree on the 22nd December – hot soup again from the Lord Combermere."
