Sunday morning

Game cancelled -- snowed out, as pitch totally unplayable .
Had to inspect the snow cover this morning at 07.00, and then to advise match official and our would-be opponents in good time for them .

But yesterday....

I was up in Liverpool as guest to see LFC play against Watford . Anfield such a different place to the days of the early seventies when I was a season ticket holder, fFor myself and my three sons.

Lots of hot Bovril then, along with prematch so called fish cakes from the little Chinese chip shop by the stadium.

Toilets disgusting with liquid around your feet at times. But all so bearable as we swept all before us, wining cup after cup.

Now, we have huge refreshment areas selling meat pies, scouse pies, sausage rolls, all at £3.40 each! Pizzas, fries, halal meat, booze etc. Hoards of young servers. One can even order food and drinks to be delivered to your seat at no charge! Very American . Meeters and greeters to help you if you get lost . And a crowd -- a tad bigger than our Audlem faithful, at 55,000 plus ..

The game

A curates egg in truth with magical Football either side of a turgid period . But that man, Mo Salah. A real magician on the ball. Fearless . And 4 glorious goals .
LFC will be lucky to keep hold of him with Barcelona and Real Madrid lining up with suitcases of cash this summer . Salah cost LFC £37m !
In spite of my asking, they had no share players that I could sign up.
And then a long journey back at 8pm down a very snowy M6 .
Worth the journey to see 5 fine goals and a great atmosphere. Tarnished somewhat by the cretins behind my seat who used the "F" word with every breath.

Back to reality

Audlem F C have their next game on the 25th . We have a build up now of games to play , so may end up with some mid week matches in late April/May .
