AFC – Cancelled by COVID

Cup Tie

This Sunday we should have played Winsford F C of the Cheshire County League in a cup tie. Here at Audlem playing field . With referee and assistant referees . Full Covid rules on barriers etc. Temperature checks etc .

Winsford FC are way above us in the pecking order, but we are playing well as a squad and can well be the David that kills the Goliath!!

The match was to have been at 11.00 this Sunday. We anticipated a big crowd to, come along and give us a cheer and help suck the ball into their net !

The players had stepped up to the plate in good numbers and Manager Kev Mort has shaped them into an attacking force whilst ensuring our own goal is protected .

But sadly the match is another casualty of COVID.

Ed – So perhaps the COVID cancellation will have saved Winsford from an embarrassing defeat!
