ADCA Spring Timetable

Opening the doors again, hurrah!

Following the official 'road map' with our hi-tech satnav and sticking extremely closely to the route guidance, we are very happy to announce that ADCA clubs will be re-opening at the end of March!

This is of course right before the Easter weekend... let's hope there's enough chocolate to go round!

Our clubs will re-open and run weekly just as before lockdown, meeting in small groups on fortnightly rotation under our Covid-19 protocols. If all goes well with the gradual easing of restrictions, we will review the situation later in the summer to see if we can restore the clubs to their full weekly capacity and return the Tuesday Club to the Annexe.

The schedule

Our clubs will open as follows:

  • Tuesday Club in Hankelow – Tuesday 30 March
  • Wednesday Club in Hankelow – Wednesday 31 March
  • Friday Coffee Club in the Annexe – Friday 9 April
  • NEW! Hankelow Coffee Club – Friday 9 April
  • NEW! Broomhall Club – Monday 19 April

The Coordinators will be in touch with all members to let them know when their fortnightly 'slot' will be.

Our new club, in the community building at Broomhall and Sound Methodist Chapel, is being set up with the support of Wrenbury Together and will open its doors at long last on Monday 19 April.

The club will be run by our lovely new staff members Debra Davies (Assistant Coordinator) and Jayne Scott (Cook), who have been champing at the bit to get started ever since they were recruited in December! The team will be busy from early April putting everything in place, laying in provisions and checking that everything is Covid-secure.

The ADCA Coordinators will be in touch with all those who have been referred to attend this new club. We'd love to have a 'Grand Opening' but this is not possible at present. We will have to find a way to celebrate it later!

Carers Support Group

A small number of carers will again be able to come in person for a coffee and chat session in the Thornton Room, starting on Wednesday 31 March. Lynn Morear, our Carers Support Worker, will make arrangements with individual carers so everyone gets a chance to attend.

We will continue to hold Zoom sessions on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month for carers. All carers registered with us receive a Zoom invite before the sessions and can join in at any time between 10am and 12 noon.

Home Support Service and Medical Transport

Our Coronavirus Home Support Service continues to be available for those who need it. Telephone 07984 785907 between 9am and 12 noon on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday.
Full details are here https://adca.audlem.org/covid-19-2coronavirus-home-support-scheme.html

The Medical Transport Service can be booked on the same number.

And last... but not least..!

There is something nicely spooky about our clubs re-opening in April 2021... which is almost exactly 10 years... since ADCA took over running the Tuesday Club at Thornton House from Age Concern in April 2011!

Will there be a celebration? Oh yes! More to come... Watch this space!
