16 hours per week; £11.45 per hour, plus extra hours for catering at fundraisers
Audlem & District Community Action (ADCA) are seeking a Cook to join our dynamic team providing services for older people and their carers in the Audlem area.
Our present chef is retiring and we need an experienced cook to take up this post from mid-August 2023.
The successful candidate will be responsible to our Community Services Manager and their main task will be to prepare two-course lunches at our Tuesday Day Club in Audlem and light lunches at our Wednesday Club in Hankelow.
Could this be the job for you? (Or someone you know?)
You will normally be catering for up to 25 people.
You will be responsible to our Community Services Manager and will work in this rewarding but physically demanding role in well-equipped modern kitchens, with help from our staff and volunteers.
You will source ingredients and prepare nutritious appetising meals – taking special diets and allergies into account – to delight our members and volunteers. You will follow monthly menu plans that you have drawn up, budgeted for, and sourced in advance.
Experience in preparing fresh ingredients and familiarity with a wide range of cooking techniques is important. Relevant food preparation certification is essential. Experience of catering for older people would be an asset.
You must have your own transport, as you will work in different venues across Audlem and District.
Note: Appointment is subject to Enhanced DBS clearance (which discloses all convictions and cautions whether spent and unspent) and a probationary period.
