The ADAS Table Top Sale in the Public Hall proved such a success that participants have already asked for another sale next year. Saturday 27th September 2008 has been reserved but this may be brought forward a week to avoid a clash with the Nantwich Food Festival.
Some quite surprising items were snapped up, including some that were not even in the sale after Olive Stretch managed to sell the 'Witches and Dragons' door mat used at the entrance to the Public Hall! But rest assured, the rest of the Hall is still there.
It appears that 'unplanned' sales of items like this are not unknown in the village. The Audlem Cancer Charity Shop staff once found they'd sold the shop's fireguard. On another occasion, a customer put down a walking stick momentarily to find it had been sold in minutes. A search of the village followed so that the stick could be returned to its owner and the cash paid for the stick returned to the new 'owner'.
