As part of our including the children in the community, we give each pupil from Nursery to Year 6 a plant to nurture and grow during the weeks from end-May to September.

In the past we have grown marrows, pumpkins, sweetcorn and gourds to name but a few. This year's plant is a giant sunflower and Ralph Warburton went to the School assembly to talk to the 206 pupils there about growing their plant. The wonderful sight of those eager faces and the barrage of questions from them makes all our efforts in ADAS so worthwhile.

In September the products of their labours will be brought into school and we will give prizes for the best in each year, plus one for everyone who manages to grow their plant. It's a lovely event and one the children do really enjoy.
