ADAS come out of hibernation

Although it only feels like five minutes ago that we were taking down Christmas trees!

A pre-Spring clean was so required, as the Autumn/Spring planting in the tubs and troughs were starting to look shabby. Wet, dull winter weather hasn't allowed the pansies to shine out yet ' however, the Iris held their own, albeit briefly, and put on a lovely show, the Hyacinths and Tulips will soon follow.

With a couple of lovely sunny days, the pansies will shout out.

We had a wonderful turn out of 13 volunteers, of which four were new to us. I think they had fun – see happy, smiling photo. This number of boots-on-ground amounted to 32 unpaid 'man'-hours helping to keep our village looking shiny and beautiful.

Teams were spread around from Tollgate to Broadway, from the Annexe beds back to the Lord Combermere long bed. Windmill Drive grass triangles got their(now) annual cut-back to re-discover pavement edging.

Leaves were swept from the roadsides from Windmill Drive up to Turnpike Field pedestrian gate.

We can't thank our volunteers enough – they are a fantastic bunch. If you wish to get involved with helping ADAS trim, sweep and plant, please do send me a message and I'll include you on the volunteers' email list.

ADAS Committee will be doing their annual subscriptions envelope drop around the village late April, early May ' please be kind to us.

Many thanks
