Given that the Shroppie Fly is the first view that boaters get of the village from the canal, we feel it needs the love, care, and attention that the rest of the village is afforded. So, on Wed 03 May we started work on the two main beds leading into the Shroppie car park. As so many old tree stumps were dug out, we may consider starting a stumpery somewhere.
Work started at 1700hrs and continued for two hours, without the aid of coffee and chocolate, however, beer was consumed at the end. The work will be ongoing for a while, with a hope of getting it 'finished' ahead of the two (!) judging sessions in July (NWIB) and August (BIB).
Did we tell you we've been put through to the Finalist stage of Britain in Bloom -- I suspect we may have once or twice. ?
