The Environmental group ADAPT is very keen to promote local food, whether you buy it from local suppliers or grow it in your own back yard. However, keen backyard producers can be the victim of their own success and find themselves with piles of marrows , apples or runner beans.

Canny ADAPT members have the answer with scrumptious ideas for marrow jam, apple butter and runner bean chutney. So stock up on sugar and vinegar (locally of course!) and reap the benefits in the coming months.

Our busy ADAPTers were also putting the final touches to plans for the ADAPTability event on 2nd October. This event is being held in the Methodist Church Hall starting at 10.00am. If you are interested in finding out how to reduce your carbon footprint and live a more sustainable life, this event is for you.

ADAPTability is free and suitable for all age groups.

We look forward to seeing you.
