This Sunday's cycle ride will take us south-eastwards to Pipe Gate, a leisurely 17 miles through scenic countryside with open views. The route is all on-road, via Norton in Hales and Winnington, along Willoughbridge Lane to Weymouth crossroads where we turn left to join the A51 for about half a mile to Pipe Gate.
There, we will be able to have a bowl of soup and/or other refreshments at the Chetwode Arms before returning via Bearstone and Norton in Hales. The outward route largely follows map route L18 (click here), with much of the return route on route L14 (click here).
We plan to leave from outside The Bridge Inn, Audlem at 10.30 on Sunday 8th April and will travel at our usual modest pace. All ages are welcome, but children under 18 should be accompanied by an adult.
If the weather is seriously inclement at the start time, then a decision will be made to postpone or go ahead with the ride.
