ADAPT Saturday market 12th July under the Buttermarket.

Over the past few weeks the kind people of Audlem and district have provided ADAPT members an overwhelming amount of used plant pots, so much so that one of us has no more garden space to pot on her seedlings. So its NO more room at the inn --- we don t need any more pots for the time being. Thank you everyone. However, used eggboxes and jam and honey jars are always welcome.

With the recent showers, our vegetable plots have a great crop of weeds which are now filling up our compost heaps quickly. A tip here is to find an old tub the bigger the better and cut off the foliage of nettle and comfrey plants to half fill the tub. Then fill the tub to the top with water and seal and leave it for 2 or more weeks. Then you have a rather smelly concoction which can be used as a plant food, rich in nitrogen, to be diluted 5 to 1 to bring on those precious plants from roses to tomatoes and cucumbers.

On the market this week we will have sweet peas, tomato plants, lettuce, apple juice, red currants,

Free range eggs, a really good selection of jams, marmalades and red currant and crab apple jellies.

The bees are still making the honey also. There will be Sticky Ginger loaf cakes, freshly cut flowers and the usual myriad potted plants for your borders or patios.

Also something different:---- which is hand-made scented bath salts.

The market starts at 10am and finishes at noon under Audlem s Buttermarket, come rain or shine.
