There s so much to do in the garden the weeds need constant attention, the pests are back, seedlings need thinning out, new plants need staking up, sometimes you think you are winning then there are the set backs. Last year the rabbits cleared out all the brassicas twice. This year they have a taste for runner beans, but its not too late to re sow them. The picture shows a munched pot of beans which were 18 tall, ten days later some of them are are back from the dead with a little new growth. The runner bean plot now resembles a prison perimeter.
On the market this week will be tomato plants, jams, and marmalades, free range eggs, local farm pork sausages, honey, cakes, and a good selection of bedding plants.
10am till noon at The Lord Combermere Car Park.
