You turn your back on any size of garden for a few days, distracted by something more important or you might have been away for a few days then my word what happened to the nice lawn or any patch of bare soil, Everything has shot up, grass and especially weeds. One definition of weeds is Wild Plants in the wrong place. My take on this is situation is no mow May for the lawns giving a massive helping hand to our declining butterflies and weed suppression and non chemical methods of weed control. Tape free Cardboard and wood chippings are great for keeping the moisture in, and regular hoeing is more labour intensive but equally effective. You could always dig up your weeds and put them in a wild area to flourish there.

On the Market this week will be

• Free seeds, get growing your own!!!!
• Free Range Eggs, Rhubarb, Farm sausages, Honey and beeswax products,
• Tomato Plants, Pepper Plants,
• A good selection of Jams – Plum, Rhubarb and Ginger, Damson, Bramble & Apple
• Marmalades – Orange, Lime, Lemon, and 3 fruit
• Apple Juice, and Spinach from the veg plot.
• Bucketfulls of bedding plants.
