After much frenetic and hilarious activity with Community Apple Pressing last week under the Buttermarket, ADAPT Food Group members are getting back to normal with their Saturday Market.
This week the Hatherton Honey and Candles were carted off to the Local County Honey Show for judging. There was stiff competition in the most popular Light Honey class and we beat off all competitors to claim the First Prize. It was judged on aroma, taste, viscosity, clarity and presentation by a National Honey Show Judge.
The honey will be on display this Saturday along with other jars from the same batch. The candles also won their class and as the nights are drawing in, a range of beeswax candles will also be on the stall.
Other produce will include damson jam, runner beans, cut flowers, tomatoes, a huge selection of dessert and cooking apples to choose from, and there are always a few surprises (grapes this week)
Hope to see you there.
Cheers Chris Knibbs Secretary ADAPT
