Saturday will bring to close one of the hottest Springs on record and leaving our gardens, window boxes and allotments looking decidedly parched.
Thankfully we have had some recent rain and the vegetables and flowers are now disappearing underneath a jungle of fast growing weeds, we can't win.
When the weeds have been tackled, now is still an excellent time to plant all the summer vegetables and flowers. We have Courgette, Chilli, Tomato, Herb, Runner bean, French bean and Broccoli plants on the stall, together with a big array of perennial and annual flowering plants to choose from.
Now is an excellent time also to make Elderflower Cordial and Champagne, we haven't any for sale but we have tried and tested recipes to give away. We also have a large fermenting vessel for sale if someone wants to make a larger quantity!!
Also on the market will be Lemon Marmalade, Rhubarb and Ginger Jam, Honey and beeswax products, not forgetting the Apple Juice and Free Range Eggs.
The market is just a 2 hour slot under the famous Audlem Buttermarket from 10am till Noon. – This Saturday
