As reported by Crewe Chronicle:

Two Cheshire men will stand trial in Liverpool later this year after pleading not guilty to charges related to the death of an Audlem man last year.

Samuel Thorpe, 23, of Annions Lane in Wybunbury, appeared alongside Nicholas Hill, 35, of Moorsfield Avenue in Audlem, when they both appeared at Liverpool Crown Court Wednesday to answer the charges against them.

Thorpe is charged with the manslaughter of Adam Lovatt, of Audlem, who died in the village on May 25, 2018, while Hill faces one charge of assisting an offender.

Both of the defendants pleaded not guilty to their respective charges, and both only spoke at the brief hearing to confirm their names and personal details, as well as to enter their not guilty pleas.

The judge, Clement Goldstone QC, released them both on conditional bail ahead of their trial.

Their trial will take place at Liverpool Crown Court in the week beginning July 1, 2019.
