A Mere Meander with ARS

Meet Audlem Car Park 08.45 for 09.00 departure

Approximately 10 mile walk on mainly flat land with only one short steep descent. Taking in footpaths, farm tracks, canal towpaths, country lanes, open fields, mere and skirting Ellesmere town, pavements.

Start: Colemere Country Park which is a free car park SY12 0QW

The Walk: takes in Colemere, Welshampton, Crimps Farm to Ellesmere, then Llangollen canal, back towards Colemere then loops to Pikes End, up through Lyneal and back to Colemere.

Most stiles are now kissing gates but the canal towpath can be very muddy in parts There are sheep and cattle grazing on a few fields.

NB All walkers must have suitable footwear and be prepared for adverse weather, carry food and water to last for the entire walk and be suitably fit for the various lengths of walk.
Each walk is led by a nominated leader who will carry some first-aid equipment. The leader has the right to refuse to include in a group anyone who is felt not be adequately equipped.
Non-members of Audlem Rambling Society (ARS) are welcome to come on a walk but are expected to join ARS and pay the membership fee after a trial walk or two.
