A Farmer's Lament

For many years people have walked via the farm drive and generally always been polite and courteous but over the last couple of weeks we have had incidents of (on these occasions) gentlemen (I use the term loosely) that have been trespassing and allowing their dogs to run freely on private land used to feed livestock.

Not only is this a danger to yourself for example, you may be somewhere that has a bull, cows with calves or where the land owner may be shooting, the land owner may have sprayed the field with something that could be an irritant to you or your dog but also dogs carry a very harmful bacteria called neospora that causes miscarriages in cattle.

Also it is horribly rude and disrespectful... unless of course you would like to leave your name and address for us too to walk freely on your garden? Aside from all of this, both 'gentlemen' when approached by us politely have been horribly rude! One even said that we were elitist to say that land was private?!

To that man I would like to say "rather we be considered elitist than be like you and considered entitled, arrogant and rude".
