30 years of Rambling

Audlem Ramblers celebrated 30 years of Rambling on Saturday – with probably unusually good weather for ramblers!

Our president (Christine Johnson) reflected on how we started. how we decided to formalise when Bob Cartwright advertised us on Audlem Online. And most importantly, how many walks she had been on that were only due to the fact that there have been so many different walks suggested and  organised over that 30 years.

We  initially would meet at a pub on a Thursday evening (after bell ringing probably!).

These days 3 decades later, with a corresponding decayed membership (not everyone!) ARS has a variety of walks to cover different abilities.

Many stories were related on Saturday afternoon, and a fairly decent   Turkey bbq delivered along with some outstanding side dishes and puddings and cheese.

A very  pleasant afternoon indeed!
