I visited Chester Record office yesterday and looked at the book detailing what parishes did for the last Diamond Jubilee in 1897.

Audlem does not have any details of what they did, just a list of parish councillors.

Buerton, however, had a free public tea, the cost defrayed by subscription, and a procession to Longhill Brook to open a new bridge, christened by Miss Hall of Kynsal Lodge and named the 'Jubilee Bridge'.

I seem to remember seeing a name carved on it – who is going to be first to photograph it – good for Buerton!
