One could be forgiven for thinking that the absence of a jolly picture to accompany this week's report might indicate a malfunction at the business end of Youth Club. Not a bit of it.
Conceding that I did, for a moment, wonder where my mojo was, I found it largely unscathed at the bottom of a large mug of Pukka detox tea. No, I now realise that the gaping hole where the pictorial evidence should be is due to the palpable absence of young people inside our new home, the Public Hall.
Not in a bad way, you understand, but in a very lovely "we've now got an entire playing field at our disposal and are that bit nearer the Coop" kind of way.
Yes, the light nights are almost properly upon us and the lure of energy drinks, football and general larking about outside are most definitely the order of the day at Youth Club.
We, the conscripted, now find ourselves peddling sugar to sporadic, flush-faced visitors whilst we lean, insouciant, on the perfect, stainless, servery and nurse mug upon mug of tea. Am I selling this hard enough do you think?
I expect normal service will be resumed once we discover whatever that is and in the meantime we take vicarious delight in the sheer exuberance of them all...and work out how to improve shutter speeds so we can catch them in flight this week.
Youth Club meets on Wednesday 20th April, 7.15pm -- 9pm, Audlem Public Hall.
