To mark the 100th anniversary of the end of WW1 we are currently researching the lives of those men who are commemorated on the Audlem War memorial. We are planning to make a display, in St James Church, for the weekend of 9-11th November about their lives to help us see them as real people who gave their lives in that war.

I would be grateful if anyone who can provide further details about these lives would contact me at anne@advantage-gb.co.uk or on 812960. I have already got some details on most of the men thanks to work by Mark Potts, Tony Marks and Celia Bloor, but would value any further information or ideally a photograph taken of them at any age. There are 3 men – Richard Bate, Frederick Williams and Edward Stockton – for whom I am particularly keen to receive information as I have no solid details as yet.

Many thanks

Anne Draper
