We, at Williams', would like to apologise in advance for any disruption caused as we begin our retro-refit over the coming months!

As we are trying to keep any store closure to a minimum, we intend to transform our shop in stages, which may take anything up to 12 months.

Little by little, we will be bringing the shop back to its Victorian/Edwardian roots by refitting some of its original old shop fittings (some of which were removed in the 1970s) and combining these with period pieces from elsewhere. We have a long list of tasks ahead of us, including re-flooring, re-wiring, new lighting -and new layout.

First to arrive are some "new" Victorian shop counters, from Winter's Newsagents & Store, in Silloth, Cumbria, who have only been trading for a mere 150 years (and still trading), as opposed to our 155 years in business !

We hope you will like the changes once complete and will continue to support your – oldest – village shop!
