Where do you keep a scythe?

ADAPT members went on a gardens visit recently where we are interested to see how others solve the problems of slugs, surplus fruit, learn of favourite varieties etc.

An interesting mix of food-providing trees had been planted – nectarine, walnut and mulberry to name a few.

We were surprised to see this scythe up in a tree! Apparently it is an old Cheshire custom to keep your scythe in an apple tree! Wonder if it goes back to druids and mistletoe etc? Can see it stops you tripping over it in the garage though and apparently a little rust on the edge
give useful serrations when sharpened!

Thought this might interest readers. Also it brought to mind the old saying: "It's only the hairs on a gooseberry that stop it being a grape." Thought for the day?
