An elegantly shod visitor to Audlem from the South East is hopping mad about the state of one of Audlem's most popular footpaths. Hopping, yes, because her left-footed Fly boot lies lost and buried in the mud of what was once the Vale footpath, the route from the Old Grammar School up to the canal that has been dubbed by knowing locals as the 'Wellysucker Path'.

Unfortunately, the footpath's ever-deteriorating condition has now claimed a more up-market boot – a Fly boot, size six, fits a left foot, which was sucked from the owner's foot by the oozing mud. If, possibly after a spell of dry weather, the missing footwear is found, please contact Audlem Online who have promised to re-unite the sodden boot with its less than amused owner.
