What a glorious start to our summer term, the children have thoroughly enjoyed making use of our wonderful grounds during lesson and break times and it has been wonderful to see them all out in the sunny weather!

Tuesday was an active day with all classes taking part in Skipping Workshops with 'Skipping John'. The children gathered together at the end of the day to showcase their skills and it has been great seeing the ropes we have bought for school being used in PE lessons and at break times – hopefully the skipping craze will keep us all active for a long time to come!

PCSOs Nick and Sharon visited us for their half termly lunchtime drop in session on Wednesday, giving the children an opportunity to ask them questions and talk to them both.

They will visit again next half term and PCSO Nick will also be working with each class early next half term on a range of topics such as Internet, Road and Water Safety.

Pearl class enjoyed a very sunny outdoor learning session yesterday using tools to create boats linked to their new Transport theme this term.

Thank you to the parents and carers who joined us yesterday for the Amethyst class Maths Coffee morning, it was great to share this important learning time with so many of you and feedback from the session was very positive.

We are sending home a letter about Sumdog and our Sumdog champion awards. Following feedback at Parent Forum, we are altering how we check for our weekly champions and we have also included some website resources which younger children will enjoy to practice their maths skills. I hope you find this information and the changes helpful and look forward to updating you on our weekly champions again from next week.

10 Years of Praise and Play

On 30th April there will be a celebration of 10 years of Praise and Play at St James' Church. Any mums, dads, carers, childminders, grannies or other relatives who have been to Praise and Play over the years are invited to join the group for coffee and cake at 10.30am to celebrate this special occasion.

Best of the Best!

Our school cook, Mrs Hayward was presented with a very special award at the 'Best of the Best' Awards evening just before the Easter break. The awards were presented by Cheshire East Catering Services and Mrs Hayward was recognised an Ambassador for Cheshire East Catering for her tireless dedication to providing quality school meals for all of our children. We are all tremendously proud of her!

Midday Assistant Vacancy

We currently have a vacancy for a Midday Assistant on our Midday team; if you are interested in this role within school please contact the school office or myself to find out more.

Finally

Your child will have brought home a class information letter this week outlining aspects of their class work during this term. All of our classes are beginning new, exciting topics and we have much to look forward to this term! Thank you for your continued support with this.
