Website working now says Cheshire East

Cheshire East say there should be no more problems with posting comments on planning applications after reports of a glitch on the council website.

Officials were alerted to complaints yesterday morning of errors from people trying to post comments on an outline planning application from Gladman Developments to build 120 new homes on the edge of Audlem.

At about 1.30pm a Cheshire East spokesman returned our call and said the system had been thoroughly tested and no faults could be found.

He added: "We have tested the system and it is working perfectly well now. There should be no problem with making a comment on any planning application."

Two posts on Audlem Online's Chatbox said attempts to comment on the Gladman applications has brought up errors. When AudlemOnline attempted to post a comment the page seized when the 'Submit' button was pressed.

When we tried to post a test comment again at 1.40 pm the page eventually worked but only after clicking the 'Submit' button several times with delays of more than 30 seconds. Another comment posted about 2pm suffered an even longer delay (nearly 60 seconds) before being accepted.

A Chatbox contributor said they had successfully posted a comment at 6.30pm.

Plase note that if you do post a comment on a planning application you should not expect to see it published immediately. There is usually a delay of 24-48 hours for the submission to be checked before it is published online.

By yesterday evening there were just nine comments published so far on the Gladman planning application.

You can comment on the planning application by clicking the planning reference number here 13/2224N. This will take you to the page with details of the application where you can click the link 'Comment on this application' (bottom right of page) and the applicant details are filled out for you.

Allow plenty of time after clicking the 'Submit' button

If you do submit a post you must take care to include all necessary information or your comment may be declared invalid.

Your full name, address and post code.
The planning reference (in this case) 13/2224N
The site address (which in this case is)
Land west of Audlem Road
Audlem
Cheshire
CW3 0HE
State if you support the proposal, object to the proposal or wish to make a general observation
Say if you are a business, local group, member of the public, councillor, neighbour, relative, adjacent landowner or specify any other role.
