A number of small changes of detail have been made to the way Audlem Online works, mainly in response to user comment or request.

galleriesSome anomalies in the galleries presentations have been resolved, and the two galleries which are currently empty ("village history – timelines" and "village history – sources") have been removed for now.

chatbox topicsWhen a single topic is selected in the Chatbox, the facility to show the full text of all the messages for that topic has been included, in the same way as it is when no specific topic is selected.

chatbox archivingWith the increased popularity of the chatbox, the list of messages and the list of available topics are getting to a size which is starting to impact on the efficiency of the website. Therefore any chatbox messages more than 40 days old are now being archived, and only the topics which have had messages posted within that period now appear on the topic list.

The archived messages are viewable in a single "flat" text file, which is accessed from the "archive" button at the foot of the chatbox screen.

searching the site contentsThe search process has been refined so that articles, pages, photographs etc will appear in the search results list as long as they contain all the search words somewhere within their text, no matter what order they are in.

chatbox external linksThese can be included in chatbox entries as the full URL address of the link. The actual address will be replaced by the words "link here" in the displayed chatbox entry as a hyperlink. The webteam reserve the right not to include any such links to sites which may infringe the criteria described in the code of conduct.
