The programme of walks organised by ARS, the Audlem Ramblers Society, is now included in the Calendar of Events on www.audlem.org Walks are normally on the 2nd Saturday of the month and include trips to the Peak District, Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, North Wales and more local destinations.

If you are unsure if these walks are for you, the last one was an almost 10 mile walk along the Roaches in the Peak District taking in Ludd's Church and Gradbach, most of it relatively gentle after an initial climb and on good tracks. (The website link that was here no longer works) The one photographed was in December, an eight mile hike along the Sandstone Trail in central Cheshire from Bickerton to Beeston castle which was followed by the annual dinner at the Shroppie Fly. Andy Davidson, the organiser, is on the left of the picture. There is often a pub along the way, and will always be visited, and everyone takes a packed lunch. The sandwich fillings and crisp flavours have been getting noticeably exotic of late!

The next walk on Saturday 11th March will be to the Long Myndd in Shropshire and, if the timings fit in, may even include a train trip between Church Stretton and Craven Arms. Watch for details of meeting up, normally at 9.00am on Audlem car park.
