The co-op Food store in the village is participating in a nationwide co-op scheme to allow you to collect a dividend of 5% on all expenditure on co-op branded goods, and a further extra 1% which is given by the co-op to the community.

Three good causes

Three causes have been selected and this selection will last for six months. In Audlem's case, the two local and one national causes are:-

  • The First Responders
  • ADCA (Audlem & District Community Action)
  • British Red Cross

It is therefore very important that as many people as possible who do any of their shopping at the village co-op, are signed in as co-op members and select the cause (or causes) they wish to support.

Procedure

All of this can be done on-line – start by clicking here.

If you are not yet a member and do not have a co-op card, follow the "join" link, and set up an account – you will then get a card through the post, after which you can follow the rest of the procedure below.

If you are already a member and have a blue co-op card, you now need to click on the "Sign in" link. This brings up a screen which can find your account from your e-mail address or from your card number. If you want to enter the account that way, then click on the "or tell us your card number" link. This changes the screen to ask for your card number – enter the number. The number required is the great long number in the form 123456 1234 1234 1234 printed fairly small on the back of your co-op member's card. Enter this without spaces.

Now click on "Find my account".

A screen is now displayed asking for your e-mail address (if you entered via your card number) and the password you provided when you set up the account. Enter these (there is a button to click if you do not know, or have forgotten, your password).

Now click on "Sign in".

You will now see a co-op membership screen which will tell you how much the 5% of eligible purchases comes to so far, and how much the 1% that is donated by the co-op to the community on your behalf by the co-op is worth.

At this point you can select which of the three causes you wish to support.

Having gone through this procedure, any qualifying expenditure that you make in any participating co-op stores in the country will generate the 1% to your nominated cause.
