Don't let January get you down this year.
Instead see this wet & windy month as a chance to celebrate because tulip season has officially begun.
The tulip is a little gem, often overlooked but actually very special with its huge range of colours, shapes and textures plus those interesting wiggly stems. That's why over in Holland they make no reason not to celebrate National Tulip Day on Saturday 16th January. In Amsterdam they create an enormous tulip 'pick garden' from which passers-by come and pick tulips to take away.
For those you who don't know that the tulip actually originates from Iran, Afghanistan and Kazakhstan, and when they arrived in the Netherlands they were so enthusiastically embraced that tulip bulbs were even worth as an Amsterdam canal-side house.
Care instruction to get the most from your tulips.
