Tuesday Quiz Nights

The Lord C Tuesday Quiz Nights continue to be excellent. We had many folks here on Tuesday – just under 60 Quizzers there enjoying the truly gourmet sandwiches and the best chips in Cheshire – all free from Jo & Allan of the Lord Combermere.

Plus of course my questions and my bloomers as I get it wrong now and then. Good clean fun and such a good convivial atmosphere.

I do urge all to come along and it would be nice to see those who have been missing for a time. I wonder if Morey's Marauders will return?

I have built up a good pot of money to pay for the big superb (free to quizzers) Christmas Buffet that we enjoy at the Lord C on the 16th December.

This year John Cooke – partner to the late May Hunter who died so suddenly and so tragically – and myself have mutually come to the same decision and as such we will be devoting that Xmas Quiz Night of the 16th December to the "Mend our Mum" campaign.

Bernie Cliffe is a wonderful woman who I have known and admired for many a year. In fact I first met Bernie when we were God parents to a lovely baby named Cece, way back in 2003.

We hope to have some spectacular lots for our charity auction (Des Mullock has offered his Gourmet Dinner Night once more – a very popular and tasteful night of dining ) that night along with many gifts from the traders of the village – who have undertaken to give their full support through Paul of Braids. A really marvellous example of the community spirit we have here in this jewel of a village.

I will of course give my support to Donna Louise Hospice as May and I did – the July Garden Party will again be held – hopefully in dry weather!
