An Audlem couple are asking for support in an effort to help save an area of rainforest in the Amazon.

Bob and Caroline Hope want as many people as possible to collect tokens from Yorkshire Tea, Yorkshire Tea Cakes and Taylors of Harrogate Coffee packaging.

The company is aiming to raise £750,000 – they will donate 50p for every four tokens received – and the money will help protect millions of trees in Peru in an area the size of Yorkshire.

Bob and Caroline know a thing or two about making tea and coffee. Until recently, as many local customers will know, they ran the Inglenook cafe in Pillory Street, Nantwich.

Bob and Caroline ask that you pass tokens to them – they live at 19 Chapel Close, Audlem, CW3 0BG, which is off Windmill Drive. They are also looking to arrange a collection point in the village centre.

An acre of rainforest is being lost every second and over half of the world's rainforest has already been destroyed. At the current rate of clearance, all tropical rainforests could be lost by the middle of this century.
