Toilets repaired in time for festival

Vandalised public toilets in Audlem's main car park have been repaired in time for the Festival of Transport.

Workmen were replacing cubicle handles in the 'Ladies' on Friday night to make sure the facility was up and running for the weekend.

Big crowds are expected to arrive in the village for festival events with hundreds of vehicles parked on the playing fields on Sunday after a parade through the centre of the village.

Having the toilets out of action during such a major event would have been a serious blow to organisers

Vandals had dismantled handles in the cubicles and damaged doors in the 'Ladies' toilets last week leaving the Parish Council with a hefty bill for repairs.
