Thought of the day

For years, BBC Radio 4' Today programme has had a 'Thought for the Day' slot. Maybe it was reading Giles Brandreth's splendid Oxford Dictionary of Humorous Quotations yesterday that has inspired the webteam to also launch our own daily quote: 'Thought of the Day.'

Doubtless, they will be rarely profound but, hopefully, will raise a smile. And, of course, if you have a favourite pithy quote, and particularly if it's one of your own, please let us know.
