The web team has received many comments, virtually all positive, about the new look to AudlemOnline that was launched on Tuesday, the website's 10th birthday.

There was an amazing readership that day with 4004 readers clicking on. The editor, who pours over the readership statistics daily, is extremely thankful especially to the five readers who pushed the figure over the 4,000 mark!

It was one of the busiest days ever on AudlemOnline – only beaten by those remarkable days last December when the 'Amazing Grace' film was going all over the world.

We guess a few of the visits were returns after a number of readers had difficulty reading news stories early in the morning as their computers picked up elements of an older design (the swoosh). Hopefully, all have been able to refresh their computers and all is working smoothly now and you have been able to catch up on all the local news.

The editor is especially grateful to the technical team – John Gunstone, John Tilling and Alvar Jones – who have spent untold days working on the upgrade and the photographic galleries, succoured only by Bakewell tarts (always the dish of choice at a webteam meeting) and the occasional sip of a strongish drink.

Your feedback was invaluable and as ever, we are extremely grateful for all the interest you have in the website. It makes the team's effort worthwhile.

Don't forget, we depend on a flow of incoming news from our readers and all the people who make things happen locally, If you have anything to report – informative, newsworthy, unusual, serious or light-hearted – which you think might be of wider interest, do email editor@audlem.org
