Corbrook Court's oldest resident, Lucy Pritchard, has celebrated her 105th birthday. Mrs Pritchard was delighted to receive her fifth telegram from the Queen.

Born in the George and Dragon pub in Tarvin, Mrs Pritchard settled in Tattenhall where she lived for fifty years with her husband and three sons. She worked as a registrar for West Cheshire and had a busy social live.

She lived independently until she was 100. A keen sportswoman into her late 60s, Mrs Pritchard puts her long life down to remaining active and keeping fit, playing hockey, tennis and badminton.

She still enjoys her daily mental workout – a good crossword. Her advice to others is to work hard, play hard and eat your vegetables!

Corbrook Court's nurse manager, Leslie Bradbury, says: "Mrs Pritchard is regarded with much affection by all her family and friends and everyone enjoyed celebrating her special day with her."
