Last night at Chester Racecourse, at a glittering and packed event, the O2 Media Awards, Audlem's 'Amazing Grace' video was played on the big screen in front of hundreds of guests from the world of TV, Radio and the Press.

Berni Cliffe's daughters, helped by Ralph Warburton, were invited up on stage – so brave just days after their mother's death, but Berni had asked them to attend – to present one of the awards.

After describing Audlem's fund raising campaign for Mend our Mum, and playing the Amazing Grace DVD (edited to just over a minute) compere Louise Minchin gave a short address in which she announced that Berni passed away on Wednesday, but that she wanted her girls to attend the event and to thank the media for the support they gave the fund raising campaign.

Terri and Hannah were then invited on stage with Ralph Warburton where Louise thanked them for coming along and then asked a couple of questions to allow the girls and Ralph to show how well respected and loved Berni was.

Terri and Hannah then announced this year's Young Journalist winner and presented the award.

Ralph, Terri and Hannah are seen here with Rhiannon Hilton, Young Journalist of the year who works on the Crewe Chronicle.

Mark Rossiter, an organiser of the awards, has written to Ralph Warburton this morning to say:

Dear Ralph,
Just a quick thank you to you and the girls for attending last night's awards.
Berni would truly have been very proud of all of you.
We're already receiving lots of very positive comments about Terri and Hannah's bravery. Please pass on my sincere thanks to them and Colin.
Our thoughts are with you for the coming days ahead.
