After our articles on Friday and yesterday about the arrival of Superfast Fibre Broadband, Ian Haughey wrote to AudlemOnline:
"Well, glad it all went well, the ceremony. Imagine my excitement at the thought of having mine installed today.
"With the BT exchange just at the foot of the garden this should be a fantastic service. Engineer turned up swapped the hub and wired us in, and said: "Ah, looks like you're not on fibre".
"After some checking of boxes etc no link can be found. So super standard broadband it is then."
Bad luck, Ian, but as Andrew Arditti's story yesterday said: "Around 700 premises locally are now able to upgrade served by the two new roadside cabinets situated near Green Lane and Broadways. Three further cabinets will become live in the early new year."
We know that one of the webteam, who lives a stone's throw away from you, cannot be connected as yet but we will be very surprised, given your proximity to the Exchange, if the three new boxes promised shortly didn't provide coverage.
